I was am still delighted with my one-person mess kit. I graded it on how it fitted my needs. The amount of weight I carry is critical and here’s how I broke down what was needed for a meal on the hike.
The superb cup was very good stainless steel with two interlocking handles. They were secured by 10 very well-placed and clean spot welds. Sturdy. The cup held more than 16 oz/480 ml. Room for expansion!
The cup is stable, being 9.5. cm tall and 10.5 cm wide. A good ratio for tired, clumsy hikers. I liked the dual standards for measurement: standard and metric. The numbers are stamped up the side in very clear numbering. It came with a Spork and a match holder if you still use matches. Frog Survival has a compact lighter, recharged by solar (you buy) or USB that comes with the lighter. This combo is so well
designed for cooking, shaving, cleaning sores and wounds! An enterprising camper could do very well with just these items. Advise you catch your own food, unless you buy the “MREs” they also sell!
