fire, water, shelter, food. shelter followed real closely by water 3weeks without food, 3 days without water. 1 gallon per person per day. a Bic lighter, followed by ferocium rid, followed by solar, followedby flint & steel, followed by bow & drill. You want to use the best method you have on hand that uses the least amount of calories/energy. knife followed by axe/saw shelter, ground cloth, water encurment, rain & wind break/protection, a drag (used to drag big game), privacy, gear protection from the elements. sun, Polaris, watch, shadow stuck method. northern hemisphere facing north the sun is over your right shoulder before noon (highest point of sun). Afternoon the sun will be over your left shoulder. Another method is to make a rudimentary sun daily. no. Due to the fact that urine is body waste including sodium(salt) which will not only make you sick when you drink it, it will also cause you to dehydrate (lose water/electrolytes) faster than you normally would.
Please inform me of my test results. I would like to know how I scored compared to others and your "base answers)
Thanks in advance

1. What are the 4 basic requirements humans require for survival?

A. Water, Shelter, Fire, and Food. The priority and importance are related to the circumstances and conditions of emergency.
The longer you may be in the situation and more extreme your environment.
2. If you find yourself stranded in the wilderness most experts agree that one of the requirements from the first question is the first priority over the others. Which one?
A. Safe Water either clean source or ability to clean and purify water.
3. How long can the average human live without food? How about water?
A. Experts answer varies due to situation and environment but the average is 3 days without water and 3 weeks without food. The temperature, environment, and lack of shelter will affect an individuals needs as well as their physical condition.
4. How much water does the average adult require per day?
A. This is also dependent on individual/male or female condition, environment, and exertion. Most recommendations is at least two quarts per day with additional needed for hotter, more exertion and for food prep and hygiene for total of up to one gallon per day.
5. What is the best tool for starting a fire?
A. Conditions dictate the best fire source with the easiest is a lighter (limited by wind, rain, fuel available-lighter fluid/butane, electric) with , next would be matches (limited by wind, rain), next would be Magnesium/ ferro striker. None of these are of use without a dry or flammable tinder ,fire starter Charcloth/petroleum cottonballs, etc.
6. A sharp, reliable ________ is arguably the single most important tool you can invest in for your survival pack.
A. A sharp fixed blade knife with about a 5 inch, full tang, high carbon (easier to sharpen) blade is the average recommended. Additionally, the knife should fit your hand comfortably and have a non-slip grip.
7. A tarp should also be a part of every bug out pack because it has dozens of potential uses. Can you name the top 5?
A. Shelter (A-frame, teepee, or lean-to) to protect against elements (rain, sun, snow, wind), ground sheet, rain collection, Emergency signal, Wrapping around you to help to protect against elements if you walking/bug-out or as emergency blanket, improvised backpack, makeshift stretcher, folded and hung between two trees to form a hammock, game drag, hang food in tree as “bear Bag”. Cut into strips to form cordage. Google tarp use and you get over fifty uses, though most are just variations of protecting from elements or carrying.
8. How do you tell direction without a compass?
A. In the northern hemisphere With the hour hand pointed at the sun, find the halfway point between where “12” is on your watch and the hour hand - that direction would be south, while the 180 degrees in opposite direction would be north (or), the sun’s highest point every day is directly south.
At night line up the outer most stars in the big dippers scoop and go up to find the bright north star.
Another method is using magnet or static electricity by rubbing a needle to magnetize it. Rub from middle to “eye” end and carefully placing in container 0f water on a small leaf to point north.
9. What’s an easy way to tell time without a watch?
A. Besides Phone a friend, Start facing the sun, extending one arm fully in front of you with your palm facing you horizontally. Close your fingers together and align your little finger with the horizon and count how many finger widths it takes to reach the sun. Depending on the season and time of day, you may need to continue stacking one hand over the other to keep count. Four finger widths represent one hour of sunlight, so unless you have exceptionally thin (or thick!) fingers, a count of eight finger widths late June in northern midwest would be approximately 7:30 p.m.

10. Is it ever OK to drink urine for survival? Seriously — is it??
ABSOLUTELY NO! It WILL NOT rehydrate you, it will cause you to dehydrate at a faster rate. The more dehydrated you are, the more dangerous.
