Although my experience is with the older Goal Zero 350 power station and solar panel Boulder 30, I felt to write my experience. Have had such for the last nine years. My battery is the old lead acid & weights 26 lbs. Take this every year to a week long camping trip my wife's family has every year. I furnish lights hooked together using a usb and light the popup tents every evening. During the day I charge cell phones & other items that need to be recharged using the usb, i.e., headlamps, flashlights, etc. At night when the lights go out it runs my usb fan. It has an invertor for 110v items and a 12v port for cigarette type connection. This will also power ipads & laptops but I leave those at home, so I have no experience with those. If battery runs low the light panel comes out and charges, just camp where there's sun, not heavily shade by trees like my family (#@*~). Leave the unit always plugged in when not in use at home, and use it at least quarterly draining the power (this keeps the battery in good shape). Goal Zero has had excellent customer service. I have had several items of theirs that developed problems and though past warrenty they replaced the item at no cost. During hurricanes on the East coast and eathquake in Nepal they shipped hundreds of their products for free to help people at no cost to the users.
The Yeti 400 and Boulder 50 panel is the upgrade from mine. Make sure to get the lithium battery and NOT the lead acid.
So I emphatically recommed this…

Thanks so much for the awesome review! Sounds like a fantastic way to bring the family together each year. We're glad to play a small role in that!
